Major projects now need independent audits before a cedi is spent. Ghana’s projects are over-inflated. Under Akufo-Addo, the Central Bank and Sports Complex cost 3x the normal price. The VFM Certificate could stop this under the Mahama administration. No VFM Cert → No contract. The Budget says the VfMO could save ~GH¢3bn/year, slashing overspending and waste.
