When the 2026 World Cup was announced for the United States back in 2018, I told myself there was no way I’d miss it. I was going to be there in person, experiencing a World Cup on home soil and I know so many of you felt the exact same way. Fast forward to now, and the ticket prices are completely astronomical. Outrageously unaffordable. What was supposed to be the dream of a lifetime has been priced out of reach for regular fans like me. I’m going to miss watching my country host the biggest event in sports… something I may never get to experience again in my lifetime. Yes, they’re going to make money off this massive event on U.S. soil. But the greed has gone too far. It’s ruining the beautiful game and turning it into something only the wealthy can enjoy. A World Cup should be for everyone not just those who can drop thousands without blinking. This is an absolute shame.

@SebSB I got this email saying that hospitality packages are being offered through Costco…it all reeks of creating false scarcity yet they have enough to give packages to sell to Costco?

There will be many more of these World Cup rip-off stories as the tournament nears. It’s so egregious that nobody selling any good or service will want to miss out.

For years the soccer world has used the USA as a cash cow for tournaments and events. They saw this World Cup as the grand finale payday and it's not going how the dreamed so they are resorting to fraudulent behavior as usual.

This is a threat of genocide and merits removal from office. The President’s mental faculties are collapsing and cannot be trusted. To every individual in the President’s chain of command: You have a duty to refuse illegal orders. That includes carrying out this threat.

This might feel significantly more solemn and impactful if it wasn't a tourism promo for one of the team's sponsors. Or if another one of their sponsors, located front and centre on the jersey, wasn't facilitating similar atrocities in Sudan right now.

@AdamJoseph @ronaldobrown_98 Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s like a sciatic issue… would explain all the set backs. I had a sciatic injury in college while playing soccer and it would get re-aggravated over absolutely nothing and I would be out for weeks.

@QweenOfDaNorth we got tickets to the R16 match for $220 bc a friend of a friend got lucky in the initial ticket draw, and that's the only match I was willing to spend any money on. Beyond that I'm basically thinking the exact same as you

And they will continue to do this until the matches are played. I'm pretty relaxed about last minute availability for Bosnia vs Qatar in Seattle. There is no way the demand for that is what they are portraying.

@adambwesley We actually ended up winning a pair of tickets to the round of 32 in that raffle. But for the other games I’m just gonna wait out side the stadium at the gantry until almost kickoff and buy then for the other games in Seattle 🤷🏼‍♀️

@QweenOfDaNorth yeah there's gonna be a lot of "stakeholders" sweepstakes like that + the non-marquee group matches are not in demand like they're claiming. There's empty seats in every single WC group game featuring the non-"big" nations, and these will be in much larger venues than usual..

I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran. This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war. Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons. I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late. Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.
