So an old AD who used to work in anime basically told me the 80s was a time where animation like that came out of folks who really wanted to indulge their passion/hyperfixation as a break from the other kinds of shows they were doing at the time. Job still paid shit money though.

@CalypsoWalker @Peakanime0 Madhouse didn't shut down. And the founder of Mappa was not just "one of the guys who worked on this", it was living legend Masao Maruyama, one of Madhouse's original founders, and Tezuka collaborator. He's 84 and been around since the start of the TV anime industry.

今の映画館でのポスター掲示はライトボックスに入れて展示される事が大半なので、その際に色がしっかり乗ってコントラストも高く出る様にする仕掛けでこういう印刷になっています。(裏面白だと色が薄くコントラストが低い掲示になってしまう、薄いのは裏も同じ濃度の鏡面だと濃過ぎてホラーになるから)

キャンペーンに当選して『パリに咲くエトワール』のポスターが送られてきたのですが、とにかく大きい B1版?ていうのですかね あと裏面にも印刷が 絵柄は表面を反転、色は表面より薄く これはどういう意味があるのでしょうか?

@Mimicinabox @junhagemay Some companies in Japan are actually doing that, especially with franchises that are older, since there's a lot of pre-existing material in the database. Most publicly, in terms of manga, Tezuka Productions did this fairly recently when they published a new chapter of Black Jack.

@junhagemay This is just my hypothesis - but isn't it possible if the Studio did use an AI, but by using their own artists' resource to train it, with privately owned data and local computing power? That means, it's still their own art in a sense.
