@KingDuu_ 90%+ of interacting and supporting an underground idol comes from being there in person at least sometimes. Sure if you like their music and SNS you can be a fan of theirs, but if you oshi an idol it has a strong connotation of supporting them harder than that.

@RFRyo_ What's so strange about it in your opinion? Asking as a person who had an oshi I never got to meet 😅

I know calling people larpers and tourists is in right now but I lowkenuinely don’t get how people ‘oshi’ chika idols they’ve never seen in person. Like the appeal is I get to see them perform in some jank livehouse from 3 feet away and then take a cheki with them afterwards.

@Lavo_2 Doing online talk is probably enough. I just figure you’d be following some big major idols instead that have more remote content.

@RFRyo_ While I'd agree, I do know someone oshis an idol despite never meeting her. Guy interacts often via SNS, orders mail cheki, limista stuff, etc. It's completely different from our experiences, and works with that particular idol (SNS/IRL she's same), but there's a two way street

@gammaraptor It’s really a matter of how strong of a connotation you feel the word ‘oshi’ has. Also I’ve noticed lot of the alt-rock type music focused idol groups don’t pull great numbers because otaku who care about music tend to follow bands or artists instead lol

@RFRyo_ toxic gatekeeper smh (agreed tho) if anything i think if you genuinely like their music then that's like a valid point but music is basically like 20% of the appeal soooo
