He was the guy who denied the war in Ukraine. Claimed it wasn't real. Also criticized any and every help for Ukraine and went to Ukraine to see for himself how "fake" this invasion was. Well, eventually he proved himself to be wrong. Not saying he deserved it, but also not calling him a victim. Should have believed the Ukrainians and witnesses instead of risking his own life.
