Society has normalized energy drinks and pre-workouts but that doesn’t make them healthy. Pre-workout powders and energy drinks like Celsius aren’t designed for young athletes. Most are packed with stimulants that can raise heart rate, disrupt sleep, and mask fatigue rather than fix it. What young athletes really need isn’t more caffeine it’s sleep, hydration, balanced nutrition, and real food fuel. 🔗 nutritionwithwendi.com/blog/the-truth…

At a minimum some non-negotiables for student athletes should be: -Eating 2 breakfasts -Eating carbs before workouts and protein after -Hydrating before, during and after training -At least 7-8 hours of sleep 4x/week but more is better Athletes have higher calorie, nutrient and rest demands than their non active peers. You may not like to hear it but student athletes need to prioritize their time effectively to be successful. It takes what it takes. 👍

October coaching myth: Your kids need a Braveheart speech before Districts. Truth: They’re already wound tight. Overhype just feeds nerves. What they need is normal: – Same warm-up routine – Same cues you’ve used all year – Same tone from you Biggest races are won by the calmest teams. 👉 Normalize the race. That’s how you win it.
