@AlluPatronia Ive entirely given up in school not because it is too hard, but because I can easily out-do anyone in my class should I actually try. My counselor is pissed because im doing just enough to graduate. Why should I do more? Im getting the same grade as everyone else anyways

When I was ten we moved, and I went from a smallish town elementary school to a big city middle school. My grades suffered immensely because the school itineraries were so different, and the city school so stunted. My 5th grade year had me reading material that was the equivalent of what we were doing in the 2nd grade. I simply didn't do the work because it was a waste of my time and it deeply insulted me. By the time I was seven, I was reading at a high school senior level. By the time I was nine, I was reading at college level. None of this mattered to the teachers, who openly resented having to deal with a kid who was smarter than they were. In 8th grade, they called a parent-teacher meeting to discuss my failings. My parents insisted that I wasn't doing the work because the work was beneath me (I still got in trouble from them for not doing the work, by the way.) But the teachers wouldn't have it and refused to believe it. They insisted on a reading comprehension test, issued by an independent testing service, in order to consider my parents' plea to not hold me back a grade. The test showed I was both reading and comprehending at a post-graduate level. The teachers were forced to consent, but they insisted that I go through remedial classes as a matter of procedure. My parents agreed, and I'll never forget my dad telling me to "just do the work so that you can get it over with and these assholes will shut up." My parents would have undoubtedly put me in a better school or home schooled me if they both didn't have to work full time, but that wasn't an option. In fairness, I did have a couple of teachers who advocated on my behalf and encouraged my reading and writing. But the majority of them were tenured midwits who didn't care about what they were teaching or why, or to whom, and they resented any outlier that might demonstrate their uselessness. In a bureaucracy, the process is the purpose, and most modern teachers are low-level bureaucrats whose only desire is to finish their stint and retire on time with the benefits they believe they are owed. The fact that they get petty power trips against kids who have no recourse for retaliation is just a bonus. I almost failed not because I was a failure, but because I refused to play the game.

@Klamz_D1 Idk, my main strat will be body language, hand movements (picture Italians) and dialogue. You can also like, frame or position a character differently in a shot to give off a certain emotion or vibe

Any tips on making faceless characters more expressive? Since most of my OCs wear helmets, I’m drawing a blank on how to show the emotions I’m aiming for.

@RevFox84 Personally I just post for fun. If my doodles get likes, yay, hurray, I move on with life. If they don't, well, no reason to waste tears. Just draw and post for fun and yourself, don't try to appease people too much
