she states that she’s always leaned towards working with newcomers/rising stars in the film industry, believing that these types of actors are often able to bring more natural and realistic acting styles.
she also points out Shuhua’s unique aura/charisma that cannot be replicated by others: “Lin Jia Qi as a character actually requires interpretation by a charismatic actor in order to convince the audience to follow along with her perspective and be immersed in the plot. I see a very natural charisma in Shuhua - many of her acting choices are very unique and genuine, and i believe that her personality traits can bring about new possibilities for the character.”
