I drive straight from my job where I crawl through crawlspaces and get covered in mud, dirt, water, spiderwebs, and who knows what else in order to make it to a Holy Day of Obligation Mass at 7pm.
I guess I need to start putting my suit in my toolbox right next to the jackhammer so I’m not accused of putting my job above God when I show up looking like I just finished crawling and digging under houses covered in mud and spiderwebs.

I saw the picture of the marathon runners attending Mass in short shorts and tank tops I just gotta say To me, they went against the first commandment i.e to not put "strange gods" above the one true God If the runners had always intended on going to Mass before the Marathon, they could've planned more church appropriate clothing the night before, or brought a change of clothes and changed in the bathroom But they put the marathon above God and did not give Him the respect He deserves It's really sad and disheartening.

@cath_menarion Not my cup of tea but it’s ultimately up to the priest to enforce the dress code and follow the rubrics. I appreciate the younger Novus Ordo priests who are more “rigid” about the rules.

People wore active wear to this Mass because the parish allowed it.
Is it modest? No.
Is it reverent? No.
Are the laity to blame? No.
The priest is the only appropriate authority to correct immodest and inappropriate attire—that includes the attire of men.
