As an ACU MEMS researcher currently harbored offshore @HarvardMedieval I have so much admiration for my colleagues in Melbourne, who are carrying on with research and giving talks (e.g., on the history of the papal beard @Sisto_Sesto ) while working tirelessly to save our jobs.

I’m as agog as any American mom might be that I get to take Australian maternity leave (after no mat leave whatsoever for the first two, both US-doctoral-program babies). It’s my sincere wish for every new parent! Still, I can’t help giggling as I register for my “confinement”…
