A lot of the highly paid white collar workers who may soon lose jobs to AI must be in the top 10% of the US taxpayers. The same top 10% that accounts for 50% of consumer spending & 60% of the federal income tax revenues. Think about that.

When asked today about his state potentially legalizing recreational cannabis, Indiana Governor Mike Braun said “I’m kind of agnostic on that issue, but when you’ve got four states surrounding you, you’re probably going to have to address it.” themarijuanaherald.com/2026/03/indian…

@Radle Many of them were actually deadly poisons. Medicine is based on science, period. If you want to go back to opium poppy, have at it.

So there was no medicine until we had blinded, placebo controlled studies? It was all anecdotes and potions, not medicine? Doc...doc....doc... doc... Was Pedanius Dioscorides not taught in med school? We've had catalogs of medicines since before Christ. The silly Egyptians prescribed the poppy for pain in 1500BC. Plants are medicine. Period.

Medicine is a science, completely different from the potions of arsenic, hemlock, and mercury and barbers performing surgery. People used plants for medicinal purposes based on anecdotal evidence, not blinded, placebo controlled studies. Again, it's all anecdotal. I'm sure some booze would decrease his tremors as well. But with the rare exception of methanol poisoning, no one will argue that alcohol is a medicine, despite being used for hundreds of years for everything from digestive disorders to insomnia. (We now know that it makes both worse). None of this is to say you can't use substances recreationally. I occasionally enjoy a good IPA, and if I was allowed to I might choose to partake in cannabis every once in a while. But neither of them are medications.

@DrJaredRoss Why don't you answer those 2 simple questions? Was there medicine before the last 100 years? Before plant compounds could be isolated? Was the cannabis that helped Larry medicine or not?

@DrJaredRoss So some plants ARE medicine. Good. Progress. Honest. Was the cannabis that helped Larry in the video medicine? Was there medicine before the last 100 years?

@Radle Some isolated active compounds in plants are medicines. Medicine has come a long way in the last hundred years. Again, your body, feel free to ingest whatever you like, but let's be honest about it.

You believe that medicine has to come in an amber tube, require a prescription and picked up at Walgreens? For 300k years, medicines were the plants. They still are. They just don't get taught in med school. Here's cannabis not being medicine again. Enjoy. youtube.com/shorts/NI3X_wQ…

@Radle 50% of all medications are derived from nature, 25% from plants. But that doesn't make willow bark, opium poppy, foxglove, pacific yew tree bark, or hundreds of others medication.

Intl. Academy on the Science & Impact of Cannabis
🥼New research from Lancet Psychiatry is challenging a widely held belief about medical cannabis and mental health. A large-scale review found little to no evidence that medical cannabis effectively treats anxiety, depression, or PTSD—despite its growing popularity for these conditions. Even more concerning, some findings suggest potential risks, including worsening symptoms or delaying access to proven treatments. 👉 What this means: • Popular doesn’t always mean evidence-based • Mental health treatment still requires clinically validated approaches • More high-quality research is urgently needed As conversations around cannabis continue to evolve, this is a reminder for healthcare professionals, policymakers, and patients alike: evidence must lead the narrative—not trends. #MentalHealth #Healthcare #Research #EvidenceBased #Cannabis 🔗thelancet.com/journals/lanps…
