Where are the self-proclaimed feminists now? When Janhvi Kapoor appeared in Peddi, outrage erupted overnight. Ram Charan was targeted, the director was accused of objectification, and Buchi Babu was forced to clarify and apologize for something many felt wasn't even controversial. But now with Cocktail 2, the camera angles, marketing, and visual presentation are far more provocative—yet the outrage is nowhere to be seen. No accusations of the "male gaze." No lectures on objectification. No character assassination of the actress. No attacks on the director. Why does the standard change depending on who makes the film? When South Indian filmmakers do it, it's called regressive and problematic. When Bollywood does the same thing, it's suddenly "bold," "modern," and "Gen Z content." The issue isn't feminism.
