@chudy_jnr Forget movies. In Nigeria, when a Judge or Magistrate says Bail is granted in the sum of ₦5 million with two sureties in like sum, you almost never pay ₦5 million cash to the court upfront. What happens is a Recognizance. Your sureties sign a legal document promising the court;

To the lawyers on Twitter, I have a question. If someone accuses me of a crime and I get arrested, and my bail is set at N5 million which I pay, what happens next? If, at the end of the case, I am found not guilty, will I get the N5 million bail money back, or does the money remain with the court and I lose it completely? Or will the person who falsely accused me pay me back the money?
