@ellymelly My mom had chicken pox as a child and shingles in her 60s. In her case, at least, it wasn’t the vaccine.
English

Shingles is all over the news again.
You know, when I was a kid, our preschool closed for a week so all the kids could get together in a 'party' where we all deliberately caught ChickenPox.
And that was it. One week of scratching and nothing for the rest of our lives.
Then, they brought in the ChickenPox vaccine.
STOPPED kids getting the virus naturally.
You were told you were an irresponsible parent if you let your kid get ChickenPox.
And all of a sudden, young adults have Shingles.
You can't tell me something went wrong.

@Matt_Pinner I don’t have any siblings so sure - give me the money

@DieselBABE20 I also miss the days of ordering pizza and the only extra was a tip. When I worked at Papa John’s in college (1995) orders averaged $10-15 including tip and drivers were still making good money. Now the fees make ordering pizza a luxury.
English

@DieselBABE20 Definitely luxury. I’ve used them a few times but the fees have gotten out of control. I use Walmart + for my parents because they don’t need to be driving and I don’t want to go to the store and then to their house multiple times a week - it’s a lifesaver.
English

@KennyJoe24 @SaltyGoat17 What if it was bought used 10 years ago and paid off? Situations change. Some are temporary.
English

@SaltyGoat17 If they can afford the payment on a luxury vehicle. They obviously have more cash flow than should be allowed and still qualify for assistance.
English

@SaltyGoat17 How old is the BMW or Mercedes? I drive my cars long after they’re paid off. If I lose my job and get on food stamps, I’m not selling my paid off car to make someone feel better. Not ditching my iPhone that I bought off eBay either.
English

@ThrillaRilla369 Mine is still OBSSESSED with General Hospital.
English

@omgsidewalks My great great uncle was born in 1896. He had property with a pond that we went fishing in. He loved the Braves - he was all I could think of in their “Worst to First” year.
English

@JfkPascalNajadX That doesn’t bother me so much. End the spyware bs and I’ll be more appreciative.

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump TERMINATED the Obama-era mandate that pushed auto start-stop systems into vehicles.
You know the one.
You stop at a red light.
Your engine shuts off.
Every. Single. Time.
Doesn’t matter if you hate it.
Doesn’t matter if it wears down the starter.
Doesn’t matter if you have to turn it off manually every time you start the car.
It was forced in the name of “efficiency.”
Trump just ended it.
No more government telling automakers how to design your engine.
No more being annoyed at every stoplight.
Build better cars. Let consumers choose.
Common sense is back.

@TarynA83 Maybe notify you a few months ahead of time but they are legally adults and entitled to make decisions about their health. I started working with mine on filling out the forms and stuff like that at 16. Stepped back and them talk to the doc. Part of transition to adulthood
English

@Randoms404 Yes, and our oldest filled them out. Wouldn’t it be easier to ask first than automatically assume and kick parents out?
English

@Arkypatriot @TarynA83 I priced it out and it’s cheaper to keep them on your insurance than to have a separate policy at least till they get a job with benefits.
English

@TarynA83 I never understood that keeping them on your insurance till they’re 26 why not 36 why not 46 if you’re totally an adult at 21 why is your mommy keeping you on your insurance but yes, this is absolutely crazy pay for it but you have no access to their records
English

@SkellyFreaks @ajalbright84 @billybinion I have never loved any president or politician of any kind enough to fly a flag, wear a t-shirt or build a shrine.
English

@ajalbright84 @billybinion But that just shows u how all this stuff is normal
Whoever it is, the people elect the president and love them
English

Obama worship was real. His face was plastered on clothing. I hated it, as did many on the right.
This stuff is *so* much worse. I find it viscerally disgusting. Worshiping a man like this—and forcing taxpayers to fund it—isn’t ~owning the libs.~ It’s a form of weakness.

English

@ajalbright84 @billybinion I know people who voted for Obama but I never knew anyone who had shrines/wore the t-shirts etc. I had one co-worker whose ex took their daughters to Washington to see the first Black president sworn into office but I never saw this hero worship.
English

@billybinion My aunt and uncle had an Obama shrine in their house. It was freaking weird. This Trump stuff is even stranger...
English

@HodlFlorida If your emergency happens in the wrong part of the bitcoin cycle you’re fucked
English

I personally like having an emergency fund in fiat.
I know it’s dumb or whatever else people think, but it gives me peace of mind.
I didn’t have one for a long time and it stresses me out, especially in bear markets lol
Bitmund Freud@BitmundFreud
Emergency fund? Gone. I’m now 100% Bitcoin. No safety net. Am I doing this right?

@NoahRevoy @AELeighton2 Do you really think people would write down stories of abuse or feeling pressured to marry etc? My family wrote down stories too but there’s plenty that didn’t make the cut (according to older family members)
English

No, you see, I actually talked to my great-grandmothers, and for 450 years my family wrote down their stories.
If that was your family, it is because your family was dysfunctional and broken. That is probably why you have a dysfunctional and broken ideology like feminism today.
That is not normal, it is not healthy, and it is not going to lead to long-term success.
The good news is that feminism means your families are going to die out because you are going to have fewer children. I suppose that is what has happened to miserable families throughout history.
English

A common response I get from feminists is that their great-grandmothers hated their great-grandfathers, hated being mothers, and that everyone beat each other while living in abject poverty and misery.
This pattern shows up so often that I wonder whether it reflects dysfunctional family patterns that led them toward feminism in the first place.
That kind of behavior has not been typical at any point in Western history. It has generally been viewed as low-class, unstable, and socially rejected behavior.
