@BrainClouds I had some characters that were maybe lvl 14 or 15 at the time. I rolled for a random shadow plane encounter and I rolled 1d6 liches! I rolled a 5 on the dice and tried to envision a scenario where they would just run into 5 liches. I am confident the could take on 1 or 2, but 5!

Doing some exploring on random encounter tables for AD&D modules, and found one table that, at about 15th level, gives a party inside a dungeon a 2% chance of encountering a freakin' TARRASQUE. I mean, I know it's hard to challenge characters of that level, but...
