ADHD is under-treated in UK adults, with limited specialist services and many people unable to access necessary care. Proper treatment is linked to better outcomes, including improved mental health and reduced substance use, but current systems fall short in addressing these needs. Researchers emphasize the importance of understanding the reasons behind premature deaths in ADHD populations to develop prevention strategies. The study highlights the critical need for better diagnostic and support services for adults with ADHD.
