I swear, this is the last personal project I'm doing in mostly subdiv. I still see myself using it for some parts, but it's just way too time consuming for little gain compared to other workflows. I'm older now and I just don't have time for this nonsense.

To make blockouts easier, I map out element separation with paintovers before starting the modeling. I often have a hard time keeping track of elements, and having a map like this to refer to helps break it down into manageable chunks. Thanks to @peachmarzi for the ref
