Thank you to those who testified and everyone who came to watch the budget process in action!

Testimony was heard from the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, Board of Library Commissioners, Mass. Cultural Council, Cannabis Control Commission, and the Commissions on the Status of Women and LGBTQ Youth.

This week, the Joint Committee on Ways and Means held a hearing on the governor's fiscal year 2024 budget proposal in Gloucester. I was proud to host this hearing on Cape Ann and co-chair alongside Senator Lydia Edwards.

Today, I met with House Ways and Means Chair @RepMichlewitz to discuss my budget requests for Cape Ann! The House will consider the fiscal year 2024 budget in late April.

I also had the opportunity to interview Grace Carey, a daughter of Gloucester and student at the Gloucester Biotechnology Academy, to discuss the opportunity that GBA has given her. 2/2

This weekend, Gloucester kicked off its 400th anniversary with Overture for 2023! As we mark Gloucester's history, we also look to the future. I had the pleasure to introduce keynote speaker David Walt to discuss what he thinks our city will look like in another 100 years. 1/2

Thank you to retired Sgt. Alan Gilson for 50 years of service to the Manchester PD, the longest in department history and possibly all of MA! I was glad to join @SenBruceTarr to present citations from the House, Senate, and governor in recognition of Alan's service.

I am looking forward to this session as we continue to focus on the opportunities and challenges we face as a Commonwealth and to continue ensuring that Cape Ann has a voice in state government and a seat at the table when important decisions are being made. 2/2

Today, I joined my colleagues to be sworn-in to the 193th session of the Massachusetts House of Representatives! It was a pleasure to be able to be in-person with my fellow representatives for the first in-person swearing in since 2019, joined once again by my mother Frances. 1/2

These enhancements and previous safety improvements were the product of regular discussions being held between MBTA, Keolis, and state and city officials. 3/3

As a part of placing these new markings, the crosswalk near the tracks was moved to the opposite side of Exchange Street by the Gloucester Department of Public Works. 2/3
