I recently met with the PA Hardwood Council to find out about trees, wood products and how they impact our state. In addition to providing oxygen, in PA wood products are big business, employing more than 60,000 people and contributing more than $39 BILLION to our state economy

Today I was thrilled to welcome my guy, Gov. @JoshShapiroPA to West Philly to talk about a law we passed that’s putting close to $200 million back in the pockets of nearly 950,000 working people here in Pennsylvania!

Times are tough and for some, toughest during the holidays. That’s why I was proud to join my colleagues to help @CaringforFriends and draw attention to the struggles that many are facing in our communities.

After federal food aid cuts earlier this year, @RepAmenBrown used his @padempolicy hearing to focus on hunger in PA. In the recently passed PA budget, @PaHouseDems delivered more funding for food banks and hungry families.

Hunger doesn't sleep. Every day these folks and organizations are working to make sure families in our community have food to eat. But the need is real and growing, and we must work together as a commonwealth to combat food insecurity.

This weekend we had 1,300 people come to my back-to-school event 'Breezy World' in #Philly, where we gave away 900 backpacks and 650+ pairs of sneaks!! I know how families are struggling, so we do what we can to help out and make sure kids have a good first day of school!!

I also want to thank @RyanBizzarro and my colleagues for joining us in this fight and to listen to these stories. Together, we must act to ensure every family has dignity, stability, and food on the table.

Earlier this week I hosted @PADemPolicy hearing in Philly talking about food insecurity and #Hunger. Real people, real stories, and a real truth that needs to be heard. People are struggling, and cuts to SNAP and other programs is only going to make it worse. Powerful words⬇️⬇️

I'm excited about @GovernorShapiro's #PABudget proposal and the opportunity to deliver additional dollars to our farmers, veterans, and firefighters. This budget would also begin to address the affordable housing crisis and lower energy costs for Pennsylvanias. Let's get to work!
