I had the privilege of meeting @LaraLeaTrump tonight. What an impressive, engaging, kind individual. She is also a terrific speaker-incredibly sharp and a joy to listen to.

I understand the real frustration with radical Islam and failed multiculturalism. We’ve seen serious security threats from unvetted migration and jihadist ideology—it’s dangerous. But, we don’t solve this by treating every Muslim the same.   Leftists identify people as groups, not as individuals. Americans, and especially Tennesseans, judge people as individuals, not as a single group. Our First Amendment protects religious freedom for anyone who is loyal to the U.S. Constitution (not Sharia law). Millions of Muslim Americans serve in the military, pay taxes, and reject extremism. The real solution isn’t mass exclusion. It’s what conservatives have always supported: •  Secure the border •  End chain migration •  Deport radicals and criminals •  Promote assimilation We beat bad ideas with better ideas, plus strong enforcement of American laws. America stays strong by keeping our commitment to pluralism and truth—not by dividing people. Let’s stay true to what makes Tennessee and America exceptional.
