Yesterday, I provided sponsor testimony on HB 416, which would designate a portion of Route 6 in Lorain as “Police Officer Phillip Wagner Memorial Highway.” I urge swift passage so that we may honor Officer Wagner’s memory.

The weather has been fitting for Severe Weather Awareness Week. As we hopefully move into spring and summer, be mindful of Mother Nature’s warning signs and what to do should conditions become dangerous.

I attended the annual wreath laying for Sgt. Kerstetter, who was killed in the line of duty in 2010. We should always remember those who died while keeping us safe.

Proud to support the Joseph Kelly scholarship, pancake breakfast fundraiser hosted by Schlechter Farms. Good to see recipients and former Firelands students Taylor and Joel.

It was great joining One Lorain County for their annual meeting. Generating jobs and economic growth for the county requires vision and collaboration which was on full display.

Today @Russo4Ohio and I dropped a bill to expand absentee ballot drop boxes. It will allow registered voters to drop off an absentee ballot at any polling location in their county. Registered Ohio voters will have their voices heard while maintaining election security.

Here’s to the farmers who keep Ohio growing and fed. Happy Ohio Ag Week!

Glad I could join the Lorain Port and Finance Authority for the Beam Raising Celebration yesterday. Local 17 Ironworkers have been hard at work making the new amphitheater a reality, and their work has gone forward smoothly and quickly. This will be a fine venue when completed.

Thank you to Auditor Tkach for the invite to last night’s dinner with the Willard Chamber of Commerce. Many great things are happening in the area!

Yesterday, I had the distinct honor to present House Resolution 339, which recognized Toni Morrison Day, to her family and friends. During Black History Month, we honor the immense contributions that legendary hometown icons like Toni Morrison made to American culture and art.

I had a great time visiting Westerville North High School to engage with the students on state government. As a member of the Education Committee, it is important for me to meet teachers and students where they are. Thank you Jennifer Carlson and Angie Mikel for setting this up!

It was great hearing from Lorain and Midview schools on how they are advancing Career & Technical Education to give our students as many pathways to success as possible. Thank you Amanda, Deanna, and Matt for stopping by!
