As a mom, protecting children is not just something I talk about. It is something I show up for every single day. When a convicted child predator was released after spending less than one day in jail right here in Mount Pleasant, I did not stay silent. I stood with over a dozen local moms to demand accountability, spread awareness, and shine a light on a system failing the most vulnerable among us. I serve in Congress, but I am a mom first. And every mom knows you do not stop standing up for your children. Every child deserves to be safe. Every family deserves a justice system willing to work for them. And every predator needs to know there is zero tolerance for anyone who harms a child. South Carolina's moms and children will always have my voice. I will never stop holding the line for them.

INTRODUCING: The No Immigration Without Assimilation Act. This bill is simple: if you hate America, you don't get to come here or stay here. Period. Before anyone receives any immigration benefit, the Department of Homeland Security will conduct a full screening to determine: Do they hold views incompatible with American principles? Are they unlikely to assimilate into American culture? Would their presence be detrimental to our culture and cultural cohesion? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, they are inadmissible. The Muslim call to prayer has been broadcast through the streets of New York City whether residents wanted to hear it or not. The days of rolling out the welcome mat for people who despise this country are over. We are not a dumping ground for the third world. This bill puts America first and we will not apologize for it.

An activist Obama-appointed federal judge in DC blocked the expanded recreational red snapper fishing in the South Atlantic, pulling the rug out from under every South Carolina fisherman. South Carolinia anglers have fished these waters for generations and they know how to protect them better than any judge in DC ever could. We have worked for years to get NOAA to approve the Exempted Fishing Permits allowing state-based management of recreational red snapper fishing. President Trump finally delivered. This politically motivated decision cannot stand. We will always stand up for South Carolina sportsmen and fishermen.
