It was great to have students from Pittsville Elementary School visit Madison today. The group had a chance to tour the Assembly and Senate chambers and learn more about the history of the State Capitol.

I was proud to be selected as a Hero Award recipient by the Wisconsin Bear Hunters’ Association (WBHA) for my work preserving Wisconsin’s hunting tradition.

Next week, the Department of Transportation (DOT) will begin improvements to WIS 29 between WIS 97 and Purple Martin Lane. Construction is scheduled to start on April 6, during which westbound lanes will be crossed over to an eastbound lane, and is expected to be completed by December 2026. I was honored to present Marathon High School basketball coach Adam Jacobson with a Legislative Citation this morning in recognition of his 300th career win. Congratulations on this incredible achievement! Go Red Raiders!

Today we celebrate National Agriculture Day and recognize the hardworking farmers, producers, and agricultural workers who keep our tables full.

It was great to have advocates from Marshfield, Pittsville, Arpin, and Auburndale at the State Capitol today for Disability Advocacy Day. I appreciate you taking the time to travel to Madison and share your experiences.

Thanks to Erik Oleson, David Katzner, and Stephanie Christensen who visited with me as part of the American Council of Engineering Companies of WI’s Legislative Day. I was happy to talk with them about the importance of the 2025-2027 state budget funding for local road infrastructure and for finding solutions to meet Wisconsin’s energy needs.

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the Marshfield Area Cultural Fair at UWSP-Marshfield’s Helen Connor Laird Theater. Thank you to UWSP-Marshfield Campus Executive Dr. Anthony Andrews for the invitation and for hosting this event.

I want to thank Mrs. Vosberg and the Stratford FFA students for visiting my office in the State Capitol and for sharing their stories. Keep up the great work representing Stratford so well!

Happy National FFA Week! For the past 97 years, the Wisconsin Association of FFA has been developing the future leaders of our state’s agriculture industry, fostering personal growth, leadership, and career success through hands-on learning and mentorship.

In 2024, I was awarded the Early Detection Life Saver Award for my support of increased access to breast cancer screening. Today, “Gail’s Law”, which would ensure women have access to lifesaving breast cancer screening, was passed on the Assembly floor. In addition, the Assembly passed a bill that would extend postpartum care for mothers. Both of these bills are on the way to the Governor’s desk for his signature.

The Assembly unanimously passed 2 of my bills, SB 248 and AB 856, aimed at making WI roads safer and saving lives relating to operating while intoxicated (OWIs). I think MADD said it best - “MADD cannot understate how big of a deal the passage of SB 248 is in terms of prevention of future OWIs. On that regard, it is the most impactful bill passed by lawmakers since 2009,” said MADD Wisconsin Regional Executive Director Erin Doherty. Thanks to Senator Van Wanggaard for his partnership on SB 248!

In recent years, seniors have increasingly become targets of financial abuse and scams, including schemes involving cryptocurrency kiosks. I am a co-sponsor of AB 968 and voted in support of the bill last night, which would establish strong guardrails to help protect Wisconsinites from crypto kiosk fraud. I want to thank @RepSnyder85 for leading this initiative and the Wood County Sheriff and Marathon County Sheriff for their work in our community.

Yesterday, Doug and Jan Kops stopped by my office during ABATE of Wisconsin's Lobby Day. I enjoyed talking with them about the importance of road safety for motorcyclists and the challenges consumers face in accessing the tools they need to repair their own products.
