I think in the last decade I can count on one hand all the nights like that I've had. Before it was multiple times a year. There's many complications in the way now, but I would like to have those kinds of experiences again. I think I want to make them happen, however herculean.

It's quite rare to have those kinds of nights anymore. Friends end up too far away, schedules change. You spend more time on discord, online, than side by side enjoying something new. Everything new is just not the same as even the forgettables of the past. Too hard to make happen

Two 15 year old guys having a sleepover back in the summer of 2010. They rent "Alan Wake" from Blockbuster and spend a great night beating it. The game, just forgettable enough to forget but memorable enough to remember. An anchor in time, a sudden reminder & flashback Hits Hard

Anyone who says the culture war doesn't matter missed the last 26 years of social tailspin and tacitly agrees with the Lefts vision for the country. I get it, maybe "you" are less harsh than others on the right but the reality is the culture determines nearly everything.
Anthony Koch@Anthony__Koch

Most of the Conservatives who say that we need to “ignore the culture war” to win really mean to say “I don’t care about the culture war and don’t want to talk about it”. They don’t have the courage to actually articulate their position, so they hide behind “electability”.

The worst part about Zero being that just in general, it has a lot of great decisions on some levels. But is completely neutered by other decisions to the point where any of the cool and positive aesthetic & fanservice stuff that exists is just canceled out by baffling decisions

I get that SF2 was supposed to have the walker Arwing. But 64 went for a multi-vehicle and specializing based system which meant the transforming Arwing wasn't needed. Miyamoto's decision to pursue both and just transforming vehicles in general just doesn't really mesh well.

Making the Landmaster transform into a hover vehicle (Not just hovering) and the Arwing into a walker are two quite frankly contradictory and baffling decisions in Star Fox Zero. They work well in 64 because they contrast each other and both have a "role" Crazy decision.

"Yeah we had this friendly competition" and it's just like 3rd+ generation white guys on all sides from whatever country of origin. Like I can't watch it without thinking about the contrast to my daily life and the state of the countries as a whole. It's just way too jarring.

You know, it's actually very hard to watch the remnants of normal things going on. Like where it's just like Actual Canadians doing things with Actual Americans or whatever else combinations and everything being normal all the while the everyday experience is so compromised.

Seeing the image quality on my siblings post-university set up was quite the experience. Her husband is quite the tech guy, so they had a great set up in general. It's crazy how fast technology moved after that. I had a 1080p computer monitor less than 5 years on.

Like my Dad had overinvested in a HD projection TV from a few years prior that didn't really compare to later HD TVs even a few years on. So the "Nice" TV at home was slightly dated. Most of my childhood & teenage years were spent with my high end big CRT from the 90s. So...

Ratatouille was the first movie I ever saw on Blu-Ray. I don't think really young people will understand but seeing my sister & her then boyfriend now husband's modern set up in 07/08 on a HD flat screen was actually really impressive if you grew up on VHS/DVD and CRTs.

If you are a student and you are somewhere between middling and smart, you are quite likely to see the flaws in the current system and think "Well if we just did this..." And with the backing of some loony professor it sort of self-validates the crazier left wing opinions.
