@MatthewJWelty Loved karmaloop & it’s discount sister site I’m totally forgetting. I still wear stuff I got over 15 years ago from there. Being into sneaker/streetwear stuff while being punk/goth has let me just do whatever & ignore “trends” of the scene.

The whole clowning Karmaloop thing is weird. Streetwear and limited-edition sneaker culture was still a niche thing in the mid to late 2000s. I know everyone likes to pretend they were on it back then, but really very few ppl were. It was our own subculture of ppl trying to build what would become what we have today. Seeing someone wear a Hundreds T-shirt or SB Dunks meant you probably had something in common. And were both in on the thrill and hunt it took to get that stuff back then.

This week's shoot in Chicago was one of the most challenging environments I've ever worked in on a lifestyle shoot. Balancing the ambient and practical lighting of these dark spaces with the strobes to make sure everyone/everything looks the best they can makes me so proud.
