
It sounds strange because it is strange. You’ve got real GOLD 🟡. But whenever you want to spend it, you have to hand it over to a company first. Then they give you a piece of paper- an IOU -and say, “Here, use this instead.” That’s not using your gold. That’s trusting someone else to hold it for you. But here’s the thing: that’s exactly how most Bitcoin apps work today. You don’t actually use your Bitcoin. You use a version of it that someone else controls. And that’s the problem @mintlayer is trying to fix. You should be able to use your Bitcoin. Not hand it over. @mintlayer: "Use your Bitcoin. Don’t hand it over."
