Alright, time to actually show what I'm building! Minimal Daily - turns your Android wallpaper into a task tracker. Here's the thing: we all download productivity apps thinking "this time it'll stick." Three days later? Buried in the app drawer, never opened again. But we unlock our phones like 80+ times a day. So why not just... put the tasks there? On the wallpaper. The one screen we're guaranteed to see. That's it. Complete a task, wallpaper updates. Glance at your phone, see where you're at. No opening apps, no friction. Building this with Flutter and Supabase with the help of AI tools. Lots of bugs still. Design keeps changing. But it's coming together. Here's where it's at right now 👇

Mostly spacing and colour consistency tweaks. I create a style guide layer in Figma with locked colour swatches and spacing values. Then I just reference those instead of eyeballing it each time. Also helps to version my designs (v1, v2, v3) instead of overwriting. Easy to compare and catch drift before it gets too far.

@Rishit_Builds23 Sounds solid! What tweaks do you make in Figma/Canva to keep iterations from drifting?

Building Minimal Daily without being a designer is definitely challenging, and this is what I do to overcome it....🚀 My workflow involves stitching AI tools: Google Stitch for UI mockups and promos, Whisk for mountain wallpapers at various stages, and Claude/Cursor to convert everything into Flutter code. Honestly, it still feels unreal. A year ago, such a project would’ve involved working with a designer or illustrator, and weeks of back-and-forth. Now, I simply switch tabs, refine outputs, and connect the dots. The mountain wallpapers are my favourite part. I generated five stages in Whisk (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and wrote logic to swap them based on progress. What seemed like a multi-week effort took only an afternoon. It’s not perfect, with rough edges, but I’ve realised shipping matters more than perfection. These AI tools make it possible to build and iterate quickly as a solo developer. I am curious to know what your AI-assisted workflow looks like these days. 👀

Great question! The key is using AI tools to get that first iteration, the starting point you can refine and build from. My usual flow: Generate in Stitch, download it, import into Figma or Canva for quick tweaks like spacing, colours, text. Finalise that, then hand it to Claude or Cursor for integration. AI tools won't give you the best result on the first try. The trick is being specific with your refinement prompts. Tell it exactly what needs to change and how you want the output to look. For the mountain wallpapers, I generated 4 variations in Whisk, picked the best ones, then coded the overlay elements separately. Things like the stats box and time icons. AI gives me the base layer, and I control the functional UI on top. Design drift happens when you keep regenerating endlessly. I lock in a direction early, then iterate with manual edits instead of throwing more prompts at it. Basically, AI does the heavy lifting, and you add the human touch for consistency.

Both honestly! The completion rates scratch my data nerd itch, but the visual nudge is what actually gets me to do stuff. Seeing '5/9 tasks' whenever I unlock my phone just has a way of resonating with me. It's something you can't really overlook the way you do notification badges. It's like a gentle nudge that stays in your mind. That accountability layer you mentioned - exactly. You really can't ignore your wallpaper...

@Rishit_Builds23 @zuess05 the wallpaper as accountability layer is clever because you cant swipe past it. the 100x daily visibility is basically free impressions on yourself. curious whether youre tracking completion rates or just using it as a visual nudge

Minimal Daily - turns your wallpaper into a live task tracker. The idea: we unlock our phones 80+ times a day but never open productivity apps. So I'm putting tasks directly on the wallpaper. Complete something, and it updates in real-time on your lock screen. Currently, I have built 5 different wallpaper styles - grid, heatmap, progress bar, mountain climb, and year counter. Each shows your progress differently. It also has streak tracking, time-block organisation (morning/afternoon/evening/night), customizable accent colours, and stats that show your weekly trends and completion rates. Still, it will take some time to complete the entire build process. It is my first product I'm actually shipping, so honest feedback would be really helpful - both on the concept and how I'm positioning it!

@V1rendra_ @X Hey Virendra! 👋 AI/ML is my thing — love digging into the math behind it, understanding how models actually work under the hood & turning that into code. Always looking to connect with like-minded folks! 🚀

Hi John! 👋 I am a CS grad who's finally shipping instead of just planning. Using AI tools and no-code/low-code to build faster and learn in public. I really enjoy connecting with other builders who are also figuring things out along the way. I'm always happy to share learnings, celebrate wins, or even cry over bugs 😅 Let's connect!

Hey Nathan, it's a great question, honestly! Right now, I am in the pre-launch stage. So currently, the majority of my focus is on building in public to create early awareness... Post-launch, I am planning to stay close to users through reviews and direct feedback, and to keep the momentum going here on X. Still testing different approaches to see what actually works... Would love to connect and hear what worked for you! I am always looking forward to learning from folks who've been through a launch before.

Day 4: Had one of those coding sessions yesterday where you just get into the zone. Rebuilt 5 wallpaper designs from scratch - heatmap, progress bar, grid, year counter, and the new mountain climb feature. The mountain one turned out cooler than I expected. Your wallpaper literally shows you climbing higher as you complete tasks. Start at 0%? You're at base camp looking up. Hit 100%? You're at the summit with your arms raised. Also finally fixed that annoying bug where the preview looked perfect but the actual wallpaper came out different. Now what you see is what you get. All the designs now have consistent stats and time-of-day indicators. Things are starting to feel like an actual product instead of random experiments. Still got a long polish list, but I tested all five designs on my phone today and didn't immediately want to change them. For a perfectionist, that's progress. Tomorrow: back to bug fixing. But today? Today felt like a win. #buildinpublic #AndroidDev #ProductivityHacks

Just created this account to document something I've been putting off for too long. I'm a CS grad who knows how to code but has never shipped a real product. No corporate job. Just a notebook full of "billion-dollar ideas" that never left my head. This changes today. I'm building my first product - Minimal Daily, an Android app. Using Flutter, AI tools, and everything I wish I'd learned in college but didn't. This account = my accountability partner. My community. My documentation of every win, failure, and "what was I thinking" moment. First time building in public. First time putting myself out there like this. Honestly? I'm nervous. But I know future me will look back at this post and be glad I started. If you're also building, struggling, or just figuring it out - let's do this together. The journey starts now. 🚀 #buildinpublic #FirstProduct #SoloFounder #Day1
