Murray’s bigger, more ambitious Oregon Trail mural still stands across from City Hall.

A photo I took in 2020. Springfield has several wonderful murals, but this was my favorite.

Pretty sad to see that the McKenzie River mural in downtown Springfield has been painted over. I photographed artist Ann Woodruff Murray as she made it back in 1991, and I’d driven by it nearly every day since. If another Simpsons character replaces it, I’m gonna lose my mind.

@HAnneH20 I don’t, but my guess is the owners decided the whole building needed a paint job. I wish they’d left this wall as is.
