€6.4 billion is just the accommodation bill, which I assume doesn’t include welfare payments made to thousands of asylum seekers (most of whom shouldn’t be here), administrative costs. I assume it doesn’t include the cost of paying Ukrainians for accommodation and welfare payments.
The people are crying out for financial help and the government say they can’t afford to give anymore help, while we are wasting billions on a reckless immigration policy.

After this I imagine FF are doomed. This is not about the farmers blocking roads it’s about their response, which makes it abundantly clear they are not listening and disconnected from all the people as everybody has been burdened for years with high fuel and energy costs compounded by Irish taxation, including VAT , fantasy carbon tax and excise duty.

Taoiseach, Micheal Martin thinks the protesters are wrong because he knows everything, well the government got it very wrong with the Referendums in 2024, he complains that the protesters are preventing mobility when he and his government placed the harshest lockdowns on its people in 2020 and 2021, he states that the protesters are preventing people from accessing livelihoods, when he and his government shut down tens of thousands of businesses in 2020 and 2021, some never recovered, but the icing on the cake is he states that the protesters prevented people from attending medical appointments, when he and his government cancelled medical appointments for almost two years.

I think the comments to this tweet show just how far this government is removed from reality of what the people of Ireland are currently going through and how the loss of trust in them and MSM media over the last 6 years have led to a very frustrated and more importantly, very angry Irish people.
