@RowZ6 @dailyecho @SouthamptonCC Hi Neil, thanks for this - our marshals worked hard to clear the area and post event 4 youths had a large water fight and wasted over 2,000 sachets which were due to be picked up. We do apologise and the clean up team were back in the evening to clear up.

Woolston at 4.30pm today in the wake of the @ABPMarathon No sign of anyone clearing up after the event and litter now spread far and wide - total disrespect for the local community @dailyecho @SouthamptonCC

@ABPMarathon Yep, the woolston side of itchen bridge. If it could be cleared up that'd be great. Some people now using unopened pouches as makeshift waterbombs

@dailyecho Shame about the mess left behind - this was 4.30pm in the afternoon. No sign of any clean up crews and the plastic water pouches now being scattered far and wide. The organisers need to pay more respect to communities.

@SwissRamble I remember my club Southampton going down not long after moving to St. Mary's. Irony was after moving from the Dell thinking it was a new dawn for the club!

@RowZ6 Yes, it's a classic risk/reward investment. Could be a game changer for Spurs, but a billion is a big price.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 2017/18 financial results covered a season when they finished 3rd in the Premier League and reached the last 16 of the Champions League and the FA Cup semi-finals. Home games played at Wembley, while new stadium was being developed. Some thoughts follow #THFC

@SwissRamble Wonder what the statistics are when it comes to relegation within 5 seasons of completing a new stadium. Seem to remember a few clubs in the 90s and 00s stadia boom falling foul.

#THFC have done very well to compete at the highest level against teams that spend much more on transfers and wages, while their focus has been on building a new stadium (and training ground). Whether they can continue to manage this tricky balancing act is the big question.

@CommDevtPodcast Sounds like the hub model which has been all the rage here for a few years. I think in our case though a driver is cut backs and the desire to cram more things in less buildings. When it's led by a genuine desire to improve services and provide a community space it works.

@emmmzyne So many things, but at work I've found myself talking about 'floor ceiling analysis ' a few times - something I picked up from Limited Resources, which is really applicable in many situations.

@cooke_martyn @Playing_Pasts In the early days there does seem to have been a degree of fluidity and I'm sure at least a few clubs origin stories are messier than the accepted accounts would have us believe.

For anyone who was intrigued by my presentation today (or couldn't make it) see a shortened version of my Stoke City origins research via my @Playing_Pasts article. There is (hopefully) a more comprehensive academic paper being published soon too! 👍 playingpasts.co.uk/archival-resea…

@TheFootballPink In the 90s hated Cantona. Felt he was the arrogant figurehead of the glory-hunters team of choice... These days he's 1 of my fave players of the era, a real character who was 1 of a kind

We're wishing a happy 46th birthday to former #SaintsFC striker Mickey Evans, who played a crucial role in the club's great escape of 1996/97! 🎉

@lucyhighnett I've said all along that that is the boards strategy - the thing is they're probably right & there will be at least 3 teams worse than us!
