@Rustum_0

I mostly share history, art, culture, food, attire, traditions, and heritage of the Indian Muslim community. Sometimes I delve into politics & current affairs.

Every civilization has had its own names for foreigners - Arabs called Persians Ajam, while the Spanish referred to Muslims as Moors. Similarly, the Muslims of India traditionally called the Ottomans & their citizens from modern Turkey and Balkans as — Rumi (Roman) Muslims.

No, the wealthiest cannot be Persians, they would have to be either Indo-Muslim or Chinese emperors. Persian Shahanshahs (Kings of Kings) were equal in stature to regiona Indian lords.. even adding Egypt & other possessions, they'd be equal to max two or four lords. Example:

"Wealthiest person of all time" is an interesting question. Has to be either one of the Achaemenid Emperors or Alexander, right? The Persians controlled the Nile, Indus, Tigris, Euphrates, Oxus, the Levant, Anatolia.

I dreamed of days like this Rustum is losing his fear Partition was forced upon us It is time to end this caricature of partition that has been created “Sarr wanted Muslim fantasy state with Sharia” No All we asked is for an equitable relationship

The Hindu leadership did. Realising that accepting the Muslim demand of fair representation was disadvantageous, they forced Jinnah to ask partition of two wastelands. This allowed Hindus to unite under one umbrella, scatter Muslim strength and become undisputed hegemon of a landmass with a massive ~11,099 km coastline length and a gigantic size of ~3.2 million km².

It is deeply saddening to witness the heritage bequeathed to us by our ancestors gradually fall into ruin and decay. This is Khairabad Imambara, built around 1850 by a Muslim named Makka of darzi biradari.

In Europe, they meticulously preserve even the tiniest heritage, making their cities beautiful. Conversely, Indo-Islamic era left countless Indian cities & towns with stunning monuments. Now, many are lost, most lie in ruins, & the remaining are neglected and decaying in filth.

The Palestinian uprising can be explained by the fact that the Mamluk sultans had previously been their rulers, while the Ottoman sultan was viewed as a foreign invader at that time.

Following the Ottoman conquest of Palestine under Sultan Selim I, the Palestinians rose in rebellion and killed some 400 Ottoman soldiers. In retaliation, the Ottomans massacred some 1,000 Palestinian men, women, and children in Gaza. — Ibn Ilyas (1448-1524).

In 1516, the Ottomans under Selim the Grim defeated the mighty Mamluk Empire in the Middle East, taking control of Gaza. How did Ottoman forces punish Gaza for rebelling against them? How was Gaza and Palestine ruled from Istanbul? What was the status of Palestinian Arabs under Turkish rule?

Before Indian Muslims liberated the Jains, they were being persecuted, dehumanised, slaughtered, and had their temples and idols destroyed by Hindus. Basava Purana (ca. 13th century) describes: "With cries and roars, the heroic assembly of maheśvaras (Hindus) rose up. They quickly destroyed all the Jain vasadis and broke the heads of all the Jina idols. When they were finished, there was not a trace of a Jain vasadi or a Jina idol in all of Kalyāņa. In a fury, the devotees harassed and killed every known Jain and smashed them all into the ground." "O you foolish followers of a senseless religion that has no basis in śruti! O you beastly animals who worship one who acts like an animal and know nothing of the lord of the beasts! O you sinners who wear no ashes and follow the evil doctrine of emptiness! O you untouchables who stray from the true path and employ illusory arguments based on nonduality and karma! O you enemies who have no interest in knowledge but instead set up yourselves as centers of ignorance! How have you managed to subject my people to your evil teachings for so long? Look what Pilla Nāyanāru, Abhava's devotee, has done. He has em-ployed logic and miracles to establish Śiva as the author of everything. By doing so, he has wiped out the very names of Buddhism and Jainism from the Pandya country. He even impaled their sages on iron staves."

Hindus and Jains have always lived liked brothers and accepted each other's world views and learned form each other like civilised people do. The founder of Mauryan Empire, legendary king Chandragupta Maurya was a Hindu. He gave up his throne and embraced asceticism under the guidance of the Jain saint Bhadrabahu. He migrated south to Shravanabelagola in modern-day Karnataka. He lived as a monk and ultimately ended his life by performing Sallekhana, a sacred Jain ritual of voluntary fasting unto death to purify the soul. So, this migration from Patna to Karnataka or Karnataka to Patna is not something new. It has been happening for centuries and will continue in future as well. But language warriors won't agree. Also, this brotherhood is not limited to Jains and Hindus. It is there between all four Indic religions i.e. Hindus, Jains, Buddhists and Sikhs. I have seen Sikhs keeping portraits of Durga Maa and other Hindu gods in their shops and houses. Now, Khalistanis cry about this a lot. But most of the Sikhs don't care about Khalistanis. Infact, they also hate them. The man who played a key role in defeating Khalistanis was also a Sikh. If you go Ladkah and Arunachal, you will meet Buddhists, very lovely and warm people. You won't hear anything bad about Hindus from them. It is only a very small group of Bhim Brigades who claim to be Buddhists who abuse Hindus.

Your allegation against Maulana Azad is completely baseless.. he explicitly predicted & expressed fear about the persecution of Muslims at the hands of Hindus. "These Muslims living in Hindu-majority regions would one day suddenly wake up to find themselves strangers and foreigners in their own homes and homeland. They would become educationally and economically backward, left at the mercy of a government transformed into a purely Hindu rule."
م@abukittenn

He apparently thought the majority wouldn’t take out their frustration and historical grievances over 800 years of Muslim rule on common Muslims staying back in India, as if he was completely unaware of the true nature of majoritarian politics.

The Indian Muslim civilisation is too vast and diverse to be reduced to the Mughals, who were but one of the multiple contributers. This is Chepauk Palace, commisioned by the Walajahis, a Tamil Muslim princely house; est. 1765.
