If Ticketmaster sells directly to the person who goes to the concert/game/etc they get the fee once. If they sell to a bot/scalper they get the vig at least three times (his purchase, his sale, your purchase).
Until that incentive structure is illegal this is how it’s gonna be

METALLICA MESS: Have you been able to get tickets to the band's upcoming residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas? I've been hearing from a lot of fans who have been trying, only to be met with virtual queues where there are hundreds of thousands of people ahead of them in line. Many are calling for a change to the concert ticket system to somehow prevent tickets from getting snatched up in moments, only to immediately be put on resale sites.
