This is the Bombach House located at the S. Alamo Street entrance to La Villita. The house was built about 1855 with a store on the bottom floor. SACS has owned the property since 1950 and has leased it to The Little Rhein Steak House for over 50 years.

The photo clue was a flying buttress on the Mission San Jose Granary. The Granary was built around 1726, supporting the mission. By the 1890's, the Granary had fallen into serious disrepair and remained so until The Society purchased it in 1931, and restored between 1933- 1936.

The zoomed photo clue is the San Antonio Light Building. This Spanish Revival building was built in 1931 to house the Light Newspaper. The Express News occupied the structure from 1993 to 2012. The building is now undergoing a renovation and will be used as office space.

This is the Hot Wells of Bexar County. Built in 1900, Hot Wells was a healing resort using the therapeutic powers of its hot sulfur springs. The county stabilized what was left of the historic structures and converted the property into a park setting in 2019.

The answer to the photo clue is the Reuter Building on Alamo Plaza. The building was designed by James Wahrenberger in 1891. This beautifully detailed building is protected by a Conservation Society of San Antonio historic facade easement.

This is the Carver Community Cultural Center on N. Hackberry. The structure was built in 1929 as an African American library and auditorium. The building was threatened with demolition in 1973 but was saved by the east side community. What an attractive Art Deco/Moderne building.
