it's interesting that hijab is often interpreted as patriarchal .. i feel that assumes the truth of a secular view of religion. muslim women wear the hijab bc we believe god commanded it, but those who believe religion is man-made will obv attribute that command to men instead.

My view on hijab is tht it's v much rooted in patriarchy, and I hate the modesty and slut shaming it perpetuates. But I'll always support women who wear hijab in islamaphobic nations, coz then it's a v imp political resistance and a part of her community's and her identity.

Islamically, it’s not even an obligation for a husband to inform his wife when taking another wife. As a Muslim man, you can wake up tomorrow and marry another wife without your first wife’s knowledge. She can find out after the wedding.
