Prince grew up learning responsibility earlier than most kids his age. His tatay is a senior citizen who suffered a stroke, and his nanay works as a utility worker at the barangay. On days with no classes, Prince watches over their small “tyange” so he can help earn a little extra for their food and daily needs. While other teenagers worry about hobbies, new shoes, or what to do over the weekend, Prince worries about how he can help his family get through each day. He carries a quiet strength—the kind that comes from love, from sacrifice, and from wanting to give his parents a lighter life someday. When we asked him about college, he admitted he still doesn’t know what course he’ll take… because he’s not even sure if he’ll be able to go. And hearing that from a 15-year-old hits differently. A reminder of how many young hearts dream silently, hoping that life will somehow make room for their hopes. But despite everything, Prince continues to show up. He studies. He helps his parents. He holds on to whatever hope he can. Prince, your story matters. Your dreams matter. And we pray that doors will open for you—that opportunities will find their way to your life, and that one day you’ll look back and realize that all your sacrifices made your future even brighter.
