Get ready to Tropic Like it's Hot! The last chance to buy tickets in school for the March 20th 7th grade dance will be Friday March 13th. Tickets are $25 cash or check (payable to GH PTA) and will be sold during 5th period lunch.

Eighth Grade students at Great Hollow took in a powerful performance by the wonderful actors from Theatre Three in From The Fires: Voices of the Holocaust. The staff and students were captivated and enjoyed asking questions at the end.

In celebration of World Language Week, students in Ms. Nuccio's Italian class made cultural posters to hang up around Great Hollow! Bellissimo!

Great Hollow’s 7th graders are having a Luau Party! Friday, 3/20 7-9pm at GHMS. There will be a DJ, Photo Booth, Snacks and more! Tickets are $25 cash or check payable to GH PTA. Tickets will be on sale on Tuesday 3/3, Wednesday 3/5, & Tuesday 3/10, during 7th grade lunch period.

Great Hollow came together for PS I Love You Day! The goal is to instill hope for those affected by mental illness, fostering a supportive community where everyone feels welcomed, loved, and supported. The theme "Be The Light" reminds us to be the sun in someone's cloudy day!

On February 6th, Great Hollow held their Winter STAR Student Awards breakfast to honor students in each of the special areas who have been enthusiastic, cooperative, and helpful to their fellow students and teachers. Congratulations to recipients and keep up the great work!

Congratulations to 6th grader, Ben Haloulakos, for winning the school-wide spelling bee! The other participants were Anthony Fil (6), David Hanna (6), Christopher Tiali (7), Riya Golia (7), Matthew Matuza (8), and Julian Torres (8).

7th Grade students were treated to an inspirational presentation by David Flood on Thursday, the 15th. Mr. Flood spoke about compassion, empathy, and creating a sense of belonging for those who are alone. CBS news was also present to cover David Flood and interview students.

On March 9th, motivational speaker Rohan Murphy spoke to Great Hollow's 6th Graders about over coming adversity through dedication and to live life with a purpose. He told us about his life, the loss of his legs, and his accomplishments by never giving up.

Great Hollow's NHJS hosted their annual festive sweater contest. There were many nominees, all with very thoughtful, funny and creative designs. Even the staff got involved. In addition, the staff held a 'door' decorating contest voted on by the students. Congrats to the winners!

Great Hollow's National Junior Honor Society held a donation drive for local Smithtown charities. All together Great Hollow students donated over 100 teen toiletry kits and over 40 birthday boxes. So inspiring to see students coming together for a great cause!

Last week student athletes from the Cross Country team were recognized for being a Scholar-Athlete Team. The students achieved a combined GPA of 3.97. AD Jason Lambert and Booster Club Trustee Dave Miller presented certificates and t-shirts to each student. Congrats! Keep it up!

On Wednesday night, the immersive, powerful sounds of Mr. Roth's 6th , 7th, and 8th Grade Orchestras echoed throughout the amphitheater and out into Great Hollow's halls as students put on a show worthy of two thumbs up! Congratulations to all performers!

The last of Great Hollow's Bands performed on Wednesday the 15th as Mr. Margolin conducted his 6th and 8th grade bands. Months of hard work paid off as audiences applauded the students' performances. Great job to our 6th and 8th grade musicians!

Great Hollow's Music Department continued to astound audiences as Mrs. Jurlando's 6th and 7th grade band took the floor for their December 10th concert. Songs included influences from The Beatles and Ozzy Osbourne. Congrats to all performers!

Round of applause to Mr. Lippman's 7th and 8th Grade Band. Students in both grades put on a wonderful show with classic holiday tunes and rock melodies. Great job musicians!

On Thursday, December 4th, Great Hollow recognized students who were nominated for being the Most Valuable Team Player. These are students who help their fellow classmates and teachers, achieve goals, and set an example for the entire student body. Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to the 7th and 8th Graders of Mrs. Putnam's Chorus for their wonderful performance yesterday at Great Hollow's first night of concerts. There were classic holiday hits with some pop hits like 'Don't Stop Believing' and 'Stay'.
