HC Ng Teck Hean hosted a year-end luncheon on 20 Dec, bringing together UK Indo-Pacific Minister @CatherineWest1 and several Heads of Mission from the Indo-Pacific region. They exchanged insights, discussed recent developments in Indo-Pacific and the UK ‘s role in the region.

High Commissioner Ng Teck Hean and Secretary of State for Scotland @IanMurrayMP after their meeting today. They discussed areas of collaboration between Singapore and Scotland, in particular renewable energy, start-ups, innovation and technology.

Shadow Financial Secretary and Conservative MP @GarethDavies_MP visited HC Teck Hean for tea this afternoon. He served as the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury (2023-2024). They discussed possible areas of cooperation, including in sustainable finance, Fintech and innovation.

All 12 CPTPP countries and UK businesses set up stands to showcase their businesses in CPTPP markets. Singapore’s stand featured Scalerr, a technology services company which provides advisory services to companies seeking to expand their global presence.

@FCDOGovUK and @biztradegovuk hosted a reception and business showcase event this evening to mark the UK’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The guest of honour was FCDO’s Minister for Indo Pacific @CatherineWest1.

The Irish community in Singapore has played a vital role in our development, The tree is a European Holly brought in from the Irish National Botanic Gardens. It is a resilient and evergreen tree that represents our enduring friendship.

We celebrated 50 years of strong ties between 🇮🇪 and 🇸🇬 with a special tree planting ceremony at @GardensbytheBay yesterday. We may be geographically distant, but we share many similarities, including our strong support for free trade and a rules-based, multilateral system.

@JohnSwinney @GraemeDeyMSP In Aberdeen, the HOMs had a fruitful discussion with the leaders of the @ETZLTD1 [Energy Transition Zone (ETZ)] on potential collaboration in Scotland’s green technology industry, in particular offshore wind energy and hydrogen.

This week, the ASEAN Heads of Mission (HOMs) in London visited to Scotland to explore opportunities for cooperation in higher education, life sciences and renewable energy. The HOMs visited the fascinating cities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.
