My ex wife just passed away. It's a very confusing feeling. We were married for a decade, we have 1 daughter by blood together and another one from before we got together. I've been kept in the loop by the oldest, she's really kept in touch during this. I wasn't always the best father, and even a bad father at times by just not being there. All of that has changed, but it doesn't change history, and I don't feel worthy of the love sometimes. It feels weird to grieve an ex-wife when society tries to teach you that you are supposed to be mortal enemies once you divorce. That was not the case with Andrea and myself. She never gave up on me, even when she knew that chapter was over, she still believed in me all the way up till the end. I'm honored to have had her in my life, and I'm so glad I got to say a proper goodbye. She was a good wife, and the most amazing mother to 2 beautiful young women. I never thought for a second that I would be on this end of the grief. I lived so hard, so fast, and she did not. I thought my body would give out decades before hers. Cancer sucks. This was very sudden. She will be missed. I love you Andrea. I'll see ya when I get there.
