Gemini in my experience has been doing really bad lately. Earlier the DX and packaging was bad but at least model was good but lately even that's lacking. Makes stupid mistakes like deleting the active file you are working on.

@danliu Even the DX with Gemini cli leaves a lot to be desired. The Gemini model is amazing but their packaging gets in the way.

the gemini app is so bad that i have already deleted it.. the reason gemini (the product, not the model) being so much worse than chatgpt is probably that deepmind is scientist-centric, whereas oai is engineer-centric. deepmind (and google overall) simply doesn't care enough about how their technology is packaged into usable end-user products, whereas oai is obsessed with it. as a result, you get amazing things like alphafold out of deepmind (and papers in Science), but gemini is terribly broken. maybe that's a tradeoff that can't be avoided.

Gemini was my QA against all the AI written code but lately it's been failing and providing wrong reviews. It has outdated cloudflare workers knowledge and will guide you in the wrong direction.
