I worked for Alex Padilla for nearly a decade. There is no one more decent, respectful, and level headed. To say his treatment today was uncalled for would be an understatement. It made me sick to my stomach—and it should be an outrage to all Americans.

Telling me how delayed a train is after it departs is pretty useless. And guess what—my train today is delayed and I received no text. Embarrassing.

It was a party. It was a funeral. It was beautiful watching the Oakland A’s win one last game at the Coliseum. It didn’t have to end this way.

The Oakland A’s were killed by greed. Do not allow the people responsible for this to spin it any other way. John Fisher did not have to move this team. Major League Baseball and its owners did not need to be complicit in it. This was a choice. A wrong one. History will sneer.

@Snack_Memories Growing up in the Bay Area in the 90s/2000s, I remember there also being a 49ers ice cream (with mini-chocolate footballs) that was either from Dreyer’s or Safeway.

Dreyer's is actually based out of Oakland, so this would have been an extra special endeavor for them at the time!

@jfkooAN I remember this was a radio only game and for some reason I followed only on the online game cast. The final “in play run(s)” explanation took FOREVER to load. One of my all-time favorite random A’s regular season wins.

“Frankie drops the baseball—Kendall’s coming home! He is safe! The A’s win!” That’s the readily available TV call but I was at that game and I remember listening to the post-game radio on the BART bridge to Bill’s call and it was something fantastic but I can’t find it anywhere.
