@james406 @connorjewiss Do you track anything along the lines of revenue attribution? For example, seeing if a change to your activation journey converted more customers?

OKRs are terrible for engineers at startups. I'd advocate the engineers in any startup have goals as just a list of stuff. We've seen this works way better as it's clearer - it's committing to the actual stuff, instead of just saying the output you hope for and seeing what happens next. Behold a 3 step process... 1. Once a quarter (or your chosen frequency - more frequent if things are earlier and less certain), use an all hands to talk about what the business needs to focus on right now - figure this out with your cofounders/execs. Ask yourselves (i) how last quarter went (ii) strengths, weakness etc and (iii) over the next quarter, what would move the needle overall? 2. Right after this, every team should (i) reflect on the previous quarter, (ii) think about what the company needs and the strengths/weaknesses etc of their current product then (iii) create a list of what they can _build_ to help with the above. Get a cofounder or exec to turn up to each team's planning session (but don't decide what they build, just reinforce or give the company's point of view on what matters right now when relevant), and commit with the team if the list of stuff will help the company achieve what it wants to achieve. 3. Build the stuff, change the list if it's not working. It's just a snapshot in time.
