i'm not even exaggerating when i say this, diabetics have to fight for their lives every single day. when our blood sugar gets too high or low we literally are on the path towards death. you can't understand unless you experience it. and to some degree the people closest to us

It's her journey from diagnosis to death in 2016 I'm desperately trying so hard to raise awareness of brain cancer especially the dreaded grade 4 glioblastoma with thanks

Breaking news! Today Bill 102 was granted Royal Assent. This means that Keira’s Law is now law in #Ontario mandating training on gender-based #IPV and coercive control for provincial court judges and justices of the peace. @forlittlekeira @MillcroftAD

Remember that your attendings have been practicing medicine for years, while you're essentially getting a new job every 4 weeks.
Know that your job is not to know everything. You job is to show up, ask questions, & care deeply for your patients.

Happy Pride Month from your favorite gay surgeon! Visibility is important. I can’t tell you the number of wonderful conversations I’ve had with my patients because I proudly wear my 🏳️🌈 pin to work daily. And I will fight to keep creating these safe spaces. Happy Pride!

I would argue most family doctors are working beyond their actual capacity, to try to make up for systemic failures. And it’s not working anymore.
