#Syria: illegal excavations filmed in broad daylight at Tell Arban, in Shaddadi countryside (S. #Hasakah province). The region contains several similar sites - artificial hills usually formed since the Bronze Age through the accumulation of successive human settlements over the millennia. Now that the area is under Government control, calls are being directed to the competent authorities to put an end to these practices, which pose a threat to the preservation of the local archaeological heritage.
