The only way Ireland's World Cup dream would continue was if they could beat Portugal at home and Hungary away. Last Thursday, Troy Parrott scored twice in Dublin to beat one of Europe's best teams. Today, in one of the most dramatic games in World Cup qualifying, Parrott recorded a hat trick, with the game winning goal coming in the 95th minute. He is single-handedly taking Ireland closer to their first World Cup since 2002 🇮🇪

Coastguard helicopter R117 racking up the miles tonight. Having departed Waterford over an hour ago, it’s now on its way to Wicklow having flown out to sea, back to Kilmore and then out over Wexford Quay.

First Hurling experience and this is what I’ve gathered. It’s a game played by men built like rugby players, trying to score field goals like American football but also goals like football using hands like handball but also bats called Hurley’s similar to Lacrosse while implementing a no travelling rule like basketball whilst sprinkling a little bit of MMA violence in there with it. It’s absolutely incredible, what a sport.

I'm 61, and I've never been breathalysed. As it happens, I always would pass, because I have one at home, and I'm more scared of next morning, so I'd never go out until it was zero, but I should have met a garda.
