that everything is great and can be iterated on and even tried for release :D I found last year's mini-experiment, and it plays just as wonderfully; I'm slowly fixing bugs and expanding the content.

@DreamMixGames Just ignore them, really. The whole industry is using LLMs, it's just a new reality. I have a lot of ex-colleagues in different gamedev companies - the usage is close to 100% at least for code (both assistance and complete feature implementation).

With a fresh perspective, Project Apocalypse plays quite well. There are definitely some rough spots, and I immediately encountered a really annoying bug (thankfully there are no sales right now, or that would have been frustrating). But overall, it's exactly what I was hoping for. So, is it time for Project Apocalypse 2 or not yet? :D Right now, my skills and understanding are significantly better than they were 5 years ago; I would do a lot of things simpler / differently / better. Still, I find myself wanting a game about "building a base" in one form or another. #ProjectApocalypse #UnrealEngine #Strategy #Gamedev #Indie

On my birthday, I usually write a post summarizing the year and highlighting some key achievements. But I could do this for my game dev profile too, right? :-) - The main outcome of the year was the freezing of Synthetica's development, and that's great. I still haven't gotten around to breaking it down into valuable components (at least extracting the dialogue system) and putting together a mini tech demo; that will be my indie goal for the year :D - I completed a training from Epic Games on Control Rig and even used the experience in my work for the first time, which is excellent. - I started making an app for practicing Japanese vocabulary. It's turning out to be useful, but I haven't found the time for it yet. I'm juggling priorities to make it develop more actively. - I began working on Idle Apocalypse - a minimalist idle game about developing a post-apocalyptic camp, yep. It's going pretty well, but it also doesn't fit into my schedule :D - I started gathering all mini-prototypes, learning tools, and experiments into one Lab project, and so far, this is the best solution I've had in a while. This fits into my schedule, and since there are no strict deadlines or lists of hundreds of necessary fixes, it’s just comfortable to relax after work. - Completely unexpectedly, I started planning a mini-patch for Project Apocalypse. - My extra indie game dev goals for the year are to get Kanji Learner to its first users. The power goal is also to finish Idle Apocalypse to a playtest version. Both seem achievable in a short timeframe, but I need to find the time. That's the deal. Well, now that's different; you can just afford to casually put together some character controller and play around with animations and settings. No pressure, no list of 100+ things to solve and fix. A pure development sandbox, even if I only had 15 minutes for it today. #UnrealEngine #Gamedev #Indie
