Scottish Deaf Signers

Where did the so-called 🇬🇧 91% mandate come from, courtesy of Heriot-Watt University’s Signs@HWU? If you look at the Westminster model here, we have a so-called “democratic” input of 8.8% there: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of… Imagine arguing the same for Ireland or even Finland? 🤔

“…Malta was once a BRITISH colony.” They are all Southern English Sign Language signs, by the way. Funnily enough, as we were re-reading the book, a surname caught our attention, there’s a connection between the author of that book, Signs@HWU, and Malta! 🤯

That’s not 20% as claimed by the branch manager. What’s going on? It’s actually more about 85%.

The lexicon on offer wouldn’t be just 20%, as argued by the branch manager. With the basic words included, it would be around 70% for a start. We are becoming a bit wee suspicious when they keep insisting it’s only about the colours or the numbers.

The 🇬🇧 Deaf Association posted that photo, emphasising Westminster’s so-called sovereignty over 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. They made a point of that last week for Sign Language Week. If you’re a Scottish independence supporter, there’s no way you want Westminster in control of Scotland’s resources.

A good fit for the British Deaf Association, eh? They must be laughing their heids off after seeing some Scottish politicians endorsing their Sign Language Week based on Westminster’s so-called sovereignty.
