Ramón Laureano is the Padres' leadoff man until further notice, Craig Stammen said. He cited Laureano's quality of at-bats wherever he's been hitting this season, whether it's first or "seventh, eighth, whatever, when I was dumb, putting him lower in the lineup."

Some tidbits from Mathieu Darche’s end of season presser:
- Isaiah George, Victor Eklund, Cal Ritchie and Liam Foudy are going to Bridgeport for the playoffs
- Quinn Finley is signing his ELC and will go to Bridgeport for the playoffs
- Semyon Varlamov is likely to start for Bridgeport tonight, and get a second game before the playoffs. He could be in the fold next year
- Varlamov had surgeries on both knees, not the same one twice
- Daniil Prokhorov is on his way to the US, though it’s unclear when he’ll join Bridgeport
- No decisions yet on assistant coaches or AGMs, though Darche said he likes the management group
- Pulock had knee and shoulder injuries. DeAngelo had a groin. Shabanov had a rib
- Patrick Roy is not staying on to scout
