Jack Flaherty is a complete disaster. With Troy Melton back as soon as Sunday, I would consider moving Drew Anderson into the rotation until Skubal or Verlander return. Flaherty cannot continue to be an automatic loss every five games, especially when he’s getting run support.

7 losses in a row for the Tigers. They took an early 2-0 lead. A Kevin McGonigle error in the 3rd led to a 3-run homer from Pete Alonso. Jack Flaherty went 3.1 innings, giving up 6 runs, 3 of which were earned. Flaherty’s time in the rotation can’t end soon enough. He’s been horrible all season with a 5.94 ERA in 11 starts. The offense put up 4 runs in the first 4 innings before going scoreless the rest of the way. 20-32 on the season, 4-16 in May, and 10.5 games back in the division. It’s almost time to start speculating about Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize trade packages. What a nightmare of a season in Detroit…

In 2021, a few buddies and I went on a weekend trip to Atlanta, with the highlight being an afternoon in Athens to see Georgia vs Arkansas. We had a blast, but the game was a blowout & we sat there at halftime figuring out what to do afterwards. Clemson had a night game vs BC, so we bought cheap tickets and make the drive. Two games in one day… such a blast. One of my favorite sports experiences. All of this to say, it’s crazy to play that game at a neutral site. More games on campuses!!

every day is a privilege and today is a truly sad reminder of that. this little boy in this picture hated you on sunday’s. but he loved to hate you, and you made it very difficult to hate and not become a fan when your passion for racing showed, when you would show up to his home town to race at his home tracks. he will be forever grateful for that. from a fan, to a hater, to a competitor, to a teammate, and to even maybe a friend. i share that story because this little kid in the picture was not anywhere near the true number that you impacted for the better just through racing. you will be deeply missed. both on the race track, but certainly off. RIP. 🕊️

Kyle and I had a really challenging existence for many years. But we luckily took the time to figure out our differences and that was something he instigated with a conversation in his bus around how we each managed our racing teams. I was super eager for us to get on better terms. But it was he who made the effort for that to be possible. We did some media together also to laugh through some of the things we put each other through many years ago. Most recently we had even been discussing him running my Late Model at Wilkesboro this summer. He seemed extremely happy and we had planned to meet up next Thursday to get his seat to the shop. He laughed over the idea of his fans and JRM fans having to cheer in unison during that race. Kyle was one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. No one can deny that. But he was also a father, a husband, brother, son, and a friend to many. My heart is broken for the Busch family. I will never be able to make sense of this loss but I am thankful that we had found a way to become friends.

We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.

That’s now three starts in a row in which Casey Mize hasn’t had a run scored for him by the offense. April 28 vs Atlanta May 16 vs Toronto Today against Cleveland. He has 5 quality starts of the eight he has this year.

Listened to Dan Dickerson on the radio today and you can tell how disgusted he is with this Tigers team. Him and the rest of the fanbase… Swept by Cleveland, 8 runs in the 4 games, 6 straight losses, 4-15 in May, 9.5 games back in the division, and 20-31 overall.
