Production Preparation Once the reservoir is reached, the well is cased, cemented, perforated, and connected to a production system. The engineering that lets energy flow from rock to the surface and eventually to your home. The biggest leap? Shallow water to deepwater. Pressure doubles every 10 meters. At 3,000m depth, wellhead pressures can exceed 15,000 psi. Blowout preventers get heavier than tanks. Communication lag between surface and subsea adds seconds that cost millions. Every new frontier requires engineering no one has done before. That's what makes it extraordinary.
