@nomadingnu @brihal1970 @MrPatMineo I think this book is just saying Lehigh is comparable to an Ivy League school. I know a lot of people think it’s one because it’s in the EIWA but it has never been an Ivy League school. I think the reason Ivy was brought up is because of the 4 year rule. Lehigh doesn’t have it.
English

@Sharkattack182 @brihal1970 @MrPatMineo To be fair, it is a "Hidden" Ivy: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hidde…

🚨 TRANSFER PORTAL ALERT 🚨
Big news as Lehigh’s 133 lb All-American Ryan Crookham has officially entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer.
Crookham placed 3rd at the NCAA Championships as a freshman, but missed the last two postseasons due to injury. With a medical redshirt, he will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.

English

@MrPatMineo I don’t think he can stay because it’s an Ivy. No graduate wrestling

@Big12Pokes Watch Zahid Valencia and it all makes sense. Uses inside control to elevate the ops elbow. Op assumes duck circles away into opposite side single. Jax just grabbed both legs.
English

@Brian2668 @JustinJBasch @rockreax Just rewatched it. I stand corrected. Cradle stayed locked the entire time.
English

@Brian2668 @JustinJBasch @rockreax I may be mistaken but I thought pjs hands came unlocked after the initial lock and hip contact. If I’m wrong then I stand corrected and it was a bad call to blow the whistle. I still believe it was a takedown but I see your point to allow to pinning combo to play out.
English

What are they upset about, @rockreax?!
Are you kidding me? The ref called it a takedown and didn't let Duke finish the sequence (having a cradle locked up). The refs then call off the takedown?
English

@John8926589 @MatScouts1 I agree the outcome is terrible. I just feel like people should be more upset with the independent review. I wasn’t considering the pinning combo should continue in my initial reaction. Either way I don’t think the TD should have been overturned so I have issue with the overturn
English

@Sharkattack182 @MatScouts1 I hate when officials cost someone a win. Stopping the action when a cradle is locked up? Lol
English

@SpikingWhamos @VNcaas Oh okay that’s it. I knew there was some scenario where you could keep it. That makes sense.
English

@Sharkattack182 @VNcaas No, but you do get reaction time in that scenario. Can only keep it if directly to nearfall criteria
English

@ByCSauertieg @Rhino184 I feel like the ref is catching all the heat but he made the right call. Independent review is the real bad guy.
English

@JustinJBasch @rockreax I don’t think calling the takedown late is a reason to overturn in. The ref thought it was a TD and he blew the whistle like he was supposed to. It’s not his fault someone else disagreed and applied reaction time. It’s the fault of a vague rule not the ref.
English

@JustinJBasch @rockreax He was asking why they’re yelling at the ref on the mat when the call to overturn came from the independent reviewer. The ref they were yelling at didn’t have anything to do with the overturning. I also don’t think the delay caused it.
English

@SpikingWhamos @Ostate_Daily Yeah the idea is that when the wrestler attempts to elbow off you push his head down and too the side and rotate your body away from where you’re pushing. It’s hard to time and get a feel for but it’s very popular.
English

@Sharkattack182 @Ostate_Daily That's where I was. "Slide by action but more elbow shuck-y"

Dee Lockett took the mat at 165 in a very highly rated match against Bianci of Little Rock, who came in ranked #5.
Lockett had the right leg of Bianchi for a good while on the edge of the mat off a double, got control, and got his takedown.
Bianchi escaped, then Lockett hit another takedown on a move that I have no idea what it was. Can anyone help with that move?
It was 6-1, Lockett had over 30 seconds of riding time, and the goal was to finish the period on top. And, he did it to take a 6-1 lead to the 2nd with 55 seconds of riding time. That was a pretty awesome job, because Bianchi was VERY active on bottom.
Neither wrestler scored in the 2nd period, so the score was 6-2 moving to the 3rd, Lockett on bottom. Lockett quickly escaped to make the score 7-1 with 1:45 left in the match, which is how it ended. #gopokes #okstate
